Easter Egg Hunt

Riley went on her first Easter Egg Hunt at Taylor's Dads house on Easter evening. She hadn't been on one before and got the hang of it really quick. She wanted to search for eggs all night! She continued eating nothing but candy which just about gave Daddy a heart attack. He was having a fit over her not eating anything healthy. I, on the other hand, think eating nothing but candy is a blast! Especially when it's only a few times a year. Craig, Taylor's Dad, made a wonderful dinner and the weather was so nice that we got to enjoy it outside. Riley ran all over the yard and scored a few uncovered eggs while we ate. We had a great time! Thanks to Craig for having us over!

Easter morning

We had a great Easter this year! We went to church with Grandma and Papa Brozenic and Riley was pretty good. She worked a little on her inside voice. She kept asking "What's that sound?" with every new noise she heard. I brought cereal for her to snack on and every time I got it out she would yell "Cereal! All right!" She also showed everyone how good she is at telling you to be quiet. She saw Aunt Janae and said "Janae pretty!" and when Janae turned around to say thank you Riley said "Be quiet, Janae!" Overall, I got a kick out of her church behavior! We finished the morning with a great brunch at Grandma and Papa's house. Riley found her Easter basket and started her day eating nothing but candy!

Easter Parade

Taylor feeding a Zebra

The camel was a little pushy wanting the food!

Feeding the animals out of her hand!

We finally had nice weather on a Easter weekend so we took advantage of that and went to an Easter Parade at Zona Rosa. They had a petting/feeding zoo and Riley LOVED it! She is so much like her Mommy and loves all animals. She wasn't scared of them at all. She fed them out of her hand (don't worry! her hands were thoroughly cleaned after!) and even petted a few. I had just as much fun! There was a very pushy Camel that I loved. He just stuck his long neck out in the crowd and took every one's food. I hadn't ever seen a Camel that close and really enjoyed petting it. Taylor fed all the animals too and pet the Zebra. The Zebra was gorgeous and I could have stayed there all day with it!
After the petting zoo there was supposed to be a parade. However, whoever planned this parade has clearly never been to one nor did they bother to look up the definition to "parade" in the dictionary. There was no parade! There was a marching band and a slew of people trailing behind the marching band. That was it! It lasted all of 30 seconds. Luckily, the weather was great and we had a great morning walking around and shopping.

Coloring Easter Eggs

Watching a movie in bed
Mommy even tried coloring eggs.

Riley got to color eggs for the first time with all her cousins in KC. She didn't get to do very many because Mommy was afraid she would spill the dye but she had fun with the few she did. The bigger kids were pros and colored beautiful eggs. Thanks to Uncle Nick and Aunt Janae for hosting the coloring event!

Baby at the park

Riley has finally got to go outside a little since the weather is starting to warm up. I am home with her on Tuesdays (my favorite day of the week!) and we go to the park every chance we get. It's the first thing she asks when she wakes up in the morning. It makes for a rough day when the weather isn't good enough to go. Baby is getting much better at accepting other children at the park. She doesn't scream and cry every time they get on a toy she has been on anymore. She does still try and block the stairs or slide so that no one else can go down them, but with a little coaxing from Mommy she'll move so other kids can go. She is such an outdoors kid which is hard for me because I am so NOT outdoors! Actually I don't mind being outside as long as it's by a pool while reading a book, but those days are over for now. It's all slides, sidewalk chalk and tricycles for the next several years. Good thing I love Mommyhood enough to let Riley pick what we do.
Riley is still growing so much it's shocking! She speaks in sentences now and repeats almost everything we say. It's quite amusing at what she picks up. Luckily, only one bad word has been repeated. Riley can count to about 15 and knows the alphabet up to P. It gets a little fuzzy around LMNO but she's working on it. She knows tons of colors and can point letters and numbers out at random. She should be good and ready for preschool later this year! I can't believe in less than a year she will be in school! What a big girl!
