The Baby at Work

Playing on the Computer

This little girl loves to play on the computer! The Baby moves the mouse around and pounds on the buttons. She has made the computer do some pretty interesting things! I'm sure it's not good for the computer to let her pound on it, but it's so cute sometimes. We actually put the baby gate up in front of it so she can only get on it while supervised. There were several times that she went downstairs and within a minute or two she had some of Daddy's songs on iTunes playing! I'm sure she will be working it like a pro by the age of 3!!

First time down a slide

Riley went down a slide for the first time this weekend. You can't really see it, but she liked it! She had a great weekend with her Daddy this weekend. She loves to "Go bye-bye" and that's all we did all weekend. Although, we learned the hard way not to tell her we are going bye-bye until we actually are.

Boating Baby

I don't think there's ever been a question as to whether Riley loves the water or not, but I was a little concerned about taking her to the lake. That water is ICKY and Mommy hates it! However, I thought I would let Riley make that decision for herself and she clearly does not feel the same way I do. She LOVED the lake!

We went to visit my brother, Shane, and his family, Jenna, Trent and Allyson. They have a lake house at Lake Tenkiller in Oklahoma. We loaded up all our family cars and headed there for the last weekend of May. The drive down there was not a good indication of how the weekend would go. We got so lost and it took us almost nine hours to get there. It should have only taken about six! We finally made it at 2am and thanks to Barney the trip was pretty smooth for the Baby. I was extremely nervous as to how Riley would react to being in a strange place because the last month or so has been tough on her with all the trips and changes with babysitting, but she did great. Great is an understatement.....she did AMAZING! She had a blast playing with her cousins and slept like a rock at night. I don't think I can describe her excitement over the water. Thank goodness her life jacket had a handle on the upper flap for someone to hold on to her. That Baby tried to throw herself overboard numerous times!! She couldn't wait for the boat to stop for her to get in the water. The water was freezing and she still didn't care. She just wanted in. She would float around and splash as much as she could. It was so much fun watching her. Riley also got to watch everyone ski and knee board (including me!) and liked that a lot. She did not like it when someone wiped out. She would cry every time someone went down. She wasn't OK until she saw they were OK. She's so considerate! Riley even took a few naps on the boat. They wouldn't be very long because there was entirely too much to miss, but she still got enough shut eye to keep her happy.

All in all we have a wonderful family trip. We don't get to do that very often and it's always fun when we do. We are looking forward to the next time!!

Playing Outside

Riley still loves the outdoors. We have been trying to spend time outside as often as possible. It's a little scary for us because she wants to run out into the street, but we keep right on top of her. There are so many kids in our neighborhoods that lots of people put those signs asking drives to slow down and watch out for kids. We'll have to get one of those soon. It is so much fun to watch her running up and down the yard. I wish I still had that much energy!

Sometimes you're just really tired!
