Time goes by so quickly.....

I sincerely wish there was more time in the day. I simply don't have enough time to do all the "extra" things. I am so disappointed in myself that I don't update this very often. As you can see my babies are growing and growing. Riley is potty trained. Van sits up and is making sounds with letters. It's all so worth sharing, but impossible to find the time.

Bumbo Bitty

Van loves sitting in his Bumbo seat. Riley didn't care for this seat as much but Van likes to sit in it and look at himself in the mirror. He knows how cute he is and likes to admire the view. He prefers to be able to sit up and see all the action around him. He is doing so good! His 4th month check up went really well. He has a huge head (which I already suspected) and everything else measures perfectly normal. He weighs 14 lbs and is 24 inches long. He feels huge!! He is the smiliest baby I have ever seen. He smiles every time you look at him. I love it!! He has started going to a new babysitter 2 days a week and it is going really well. There is a 10 month little boy that Van loves. I think they will be great friends. The babysitter lives in our neighborhood so it's really convenient for us.
One last piece of exciting news.......Riley is 99% potty trained! We never thought the day would come! It took us a very long time but one night at Grammy's house she decided it was time to make the leap. She's been almost perfect since then. I am so happy and have already got her on a waiting list for gymnastics. We need to work on her coordination before we get into dance classes. Yea for Mommy!!

Baby girl is dressing herself!

How cute is that???? We certainly have to clean it up a bit before she leaves the house, but we are impressed with her style!

Not Cool Brown Dog!

As you can see we have 2 dog beds for my little pups. One is much larger and you would think that would be for a much larger dog. Not according to Brown Dog. She feels as though Callie can sleep comfortably on the smaller bed and has madde it clear that there is only room for her on the larger bed. Not cool Brown. Not Cool!

Baby Boy

My how my Bitty Boy is growing! I can't believe he is 14 weeks. I am sad to say that the vicious rumor that you don't take as many pictures of the 2nd kid compared to how many you took of the 1st kid is true. Van has a fraction of kodak moments compared to Riley. I just don't have time!
I can report that Van is growing just fine and a complete joy to have. He is very lucky and does not require more than a few hours of sleep at night. No matter how much sleep he gets he is still very happy during the day. (The same cannot be said for me.) He does nothing but smile. He has the cutest little smirk! It reminds me of Elivis. One side of his mouth curls up before his whole face lights up. He also laughs!! This is huge for me. Riley never laughed as a baby. Van laughs all the time at everything. He thinks everything is hysterical! On eof these days I'll get our computer fixed and I'll load videos of him laughing and talking. He goes on and on about his day. You'll be on the edge of your seat, I promise!

Parents of the year? Not a chance!

Baby girl has a fractured arm! Hairline fracture, but a fracture none the less. She fell off the bed on Friday and landed on her hand. Grandma said she cried a lot and every time she put pressure on it or touched it she cried. Grandma wanted to take her to the doctor but I told her to wait. I said that I didn't want to spend the money for the doctor to tell me that it was bruised. (Parent rights should be revoked immediately!) I kept an eye on her all night Friday night and Saturday, of course, and she wouldn't use her hand but it seemed if she didn't pay attention to it she was just fine. Every once in a while she would burst into tears and say it hurt again. We went to Chuck E Cheese on Saturday and she played just fine. By Sunday (when Daddy got back in town) she wouldn't use her left hand at all. It just hung by her side. It looked pretty sad! Dave decided that we should take her to the doctor just to be on the safe side. We both had injuries as kids that our parents ignored that turned out to be pretty bad. We never forgave them for that and I'm sure they are still trying to forgive themselves as well. Of course, I still didn't think anything was really wrong, but agreed that we may as well have it checked out. The doc did an X-ray and then came in and had Riley move her hands and checked her out. While she was moving it I thought he was just showing us that she was fine. Nope! He then said "It is fractured!" What??? How could that be? Wouldn't she have been in so much more pain? Or is she really that strong? Turns out she is really that strong! In our defense, the doc said that most parents wouldn't even bring their kid in for that type of fracture because it's not swollen and it doesn't appear that serious. However, if she were to fall again in just the right spot it would snap. That's a pretty scary thought to us!! They put her arm in a little tiny splint and wrapped her all up. She hated it at first but has gotten used to it now. It needs to stay wrapped for 2-4 weeks and then we'll X-ray it again and see if she's all patched up.
Riley now has her own story of how Mommy told her to "walk it off" when she shouldn't have. She is such a little trooper! I can only hope that she doesn't remember this when she grows up!
P.S. I have been reduced to using cell phone pictures. I apologize for the picture quality!

Computers.....

It's offical! Our computer sucks! I will be taking an extended break from the blog since our computer has crashed. We will hopefully get it fixed soon, but until then I can"t load any pictures of my babies. So sorry! You're missing out because my kids are gorgeous!
