This baby is CRANKY!

You can't tell by this picture, but the Baby is in her terrible two's!! It has been complete craziness at our house. The good news is that she loves Barney (I don't know if that's good or bad news) and as long as Barney is on we have a chance of getting a happy Baby. She is very demanding and has a pretty bad temper.
Riley and I went to Oklahoma to visit my sick Grandpa. He hadn't seen Riley since November so I knew I had to take her to visit. She was pretty good on the way there and had fun in the hotel room, but when she woke up on Monday morning all that went out the window. She spent the entire day throwing a VERY dramatic fit over everything. What made her happy one minute would make her extremely mad the next minute. After an entire day of crying we finally made it home around 7pm Monday night. That was simply a glimpse into what we are experiencing on a daily basis. Riley is the best and hardest thing I have ever dealt with. It's a good thing I love her more than anything in the entire world!!
Riley has also started going to a part time babysitter two days a week. That has been AWFUL! She hates it. I feel so sorry for the new sitter because Riley cries the entire day. There's no explaining how hard it is to leave her there. Dave took her the first two times and refused to take her the third time. I took her on Tuesday morning and it stomped all over my heart. I have never had to walk away from my baby girl while she was screaming and reaching for her Mommy. When I went to give her a goodbye kiss she grabbed my shirt and held on tight. I had to pry her hands off my shirt and leave. It was all I could not to stand in the driveway and scream myself. Even though she is very difficult right now the thought of her being scared and sad just because she is without me is almost more than I can bare.
Riley is officially a year and a half old this week. Please stop growing, Baby. Mommy can't take it. Actually, please out grow out of the "Terrible Two's", but please stay the size you are. I would appreciate it.

Happy Mother's Day!

My Mother's Day gift was the best gift I could have asked for. Dave got pictures taken of Riley! I am so happy! I have been feeling so guilty for not getting her picture taken professionally. I take so many pictures of her myself and I probably have more than 1000 but I still think it's important to have someone who actually knows what they are doing take her picture. They turned out really good and I can't wait to get them on the wall.
We had a great day on Sunday! We had lunch at Dave's parents house (Grandma & Papa's) with all of his family which was wonderful as always. We had dinner at my house with my parents (Grammy and Papa) and family that evening. It may not have been very relaxing, but I couldn't imagine spending the day any other way. Dave has such a wonderful Mother whom I love very much and I have the best Mom I could have asked for. You truly do understand what it means to be a Mother and how hard the job really is when you finally have your own. Thank goodness our Mom's were amazing!! We love you both so much more than we could ever say!! Luckily we had sister's to learn from as well. They are both such great Mom's that it's hard not to pick up some good habits!

Easter 2009

We didn't get to spend much time outside due to the crappy weather we had, but Baby had a great day anyway. She played with Blaine, Avery, Taylor and both sets of Grandparents all day. She got lots of great presents and Mommy scored some candy. I dread the days when I have to share the candy with her!

Playin' Outside

We finally have some nice weather for Riley to play outside. The Baby will do anything to be outside. Rain or shine. She runs up and down the driveway and all over the yard. Mix in a ball or two and you've got a party! She loves to throw the ball and chase after it. We are going to have a lot of fun this summer. Too bad Mommy doesn't love the outside so much. I'd rather be inside getting a pedicure. However, if it makes Baby happy then I'll do it!

April Dinner Club

As usual our monthly dinner clud was a night to remember. Dave and I have such great friends and I truly look forward to our monthly events! This was our April "Who the HELL picked THIS place". We enjoyed an extremely spicy dinner at The Jazz and then some intense games at our friend Eric's condo. The night ended with several entertaining tours of Rock Band.

Survived the fussy spell

I'm happy to report that we survived the fussy few weeks that Riley had. Riley had her first ear infection and it was quite a tough few weeks. She had been extra crabby for about a week and a half and one afternoon Grandma thought she had a fever. I took her temperature that night and it was 103.4! The Baby has never been sick before so I panicked a little. She ran a fever over 103 for 3 whole days. She and I were up all night one night and I had to fight the urge to take her to the emergency room. She was so hot! She handled it pretty well during that part. I was surprised at how she was able to sleep for short periods of time. I couldn't sleep at all. I was a wreck! The next morning she seemed better, but during the day was the worst part. Everything made her mad. Everything! After about a solid week of crabby Baby we finally broke through. The doctor gave us some medicine for the ear infection and that seemed to help pretty quickly. However, that gave her a nasty rash. I couldn't take the stress and worry anymore so we took her to Urgent Care last Saturday. The doctor said it was nothing to worry about and she has been back to her wonderful self since then.
Riley has grown so much over the last month. Her words are becoming more clear and her voice is the sweetest thing I have ever heard! We all play on the floor with the dogs and she laughs so hard....FINALLY! She has never really laughed hard and I can't get enough of it. It's the most addictive thing I have ever encountered! Sometimes I wish this age would last forever.
